Polycarbonate Greenhouse Panels

The clear portions of our GalvStruct Greenhouses are constructed using Macrolux® Rooflite® corrugated polycarbonate panels—a lightweight, durable alternative to traditional glass or fiberglass. These panels are designed specifically for metal-building roof and wall applications and combine excellent light transmission with impact resistance and long-term weather performance.

Clear Macrolux® polycarbonate allows up to 90% visible light transmission, providing the abundant natural sunlight plants need while maintaining a strong, weather-resistant enclosure. Despite weighing only about one-eighth as much as glass, the material is rated at approximately 20 times the impact resistance of fiberglass and more than 120 times that of glass. It is also designed for temperatures ranging from -40°F to 248°F, making it well suited for year-round outdoor applications.

Key advantages include:

  • Up to 90% natural light transmission

  • Lightweight, high-impact polycarbonate construction

  • UV-resistant coextruded material designed for durability

  • Suitable for both roofing and sidewall applications

  • Designed for a wide range of outdoor temperatures

  • 10-year non-prorated manufacturer warranty against yellowing and qualifying hail breakage

For customers who prefer a softer, more diffused appearance, opal polycarbonate is also available, offering approximately 60% light transmission while reducing the direct, clear appearance of the panels.
